Sisseton gymnasts take first at home invitational

he Sisseton Redmen Gym-nastics Team hosted the Sisseton Invite on Saturday, Jan. 3, at Ben Reifel Gym, with the Britton-Hecla Braves, Milbank Bulldogs, and the Sisseton Redmen Gymnastics Teams competing.

The Sisseton Redmen won the meet scoring 134.15 points. Coming in second and third, respectively, were the Britton-Hecla Braves with 133.95 points and the Milbank Bulldogs with 133.6 points.

Sisseton wrestlers compete in Rumble on the Red

The Sisseton Redmen Boys and Girls Wrestling Teams travled to Fargo, ND to compete in the Rumble on the Red on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 2-3, at the FargoDome.

n the Girls Division, Vi Anderson was the Champion. Clara Iverson went 1-2, Destiny Current went 0-2, Isablle Current went 4-2, Rae Fryer went 3-2, and Mary Ann Rice went 3-2.  

In the Boys Division, Kayden Tchida and Holden Hawkins both took third place. Evan Folk went 1-2, and Blake Steiner went 3-2.

Sisseton Boys will travel to Faulkton on Jan. 13, Clark on Jan. 19, and Madison on Jan. 20.

Sisseton Boys get a win over Tri-State

The Sisseton Redmen Boys Basketball Team got a win over the Tri-State Tigers 55-43 on Thursday, Jan. 8, at Rosholt High School.

No other stats were available at press time.

Sisseton will host Aberdeen Roncallli on Thursday, Jan. 15, travel to Flandreau on Saturday, Jan. 17 for the Flandreau Classic, and will host the Flandreau Indians on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

The Sisseton Redmen Gym-nastics Team won the Aberdeen Invite on Tuesday, Dec. 30, with a score of 130.85. Britton-Hecla came in second with 130.35, and Aberdeen Central third with 128.85.

The Sisseton Redmen Girls Wrestlers traveled to Madison to compete in the Madison Invite on Dec. 20.

Sisseton’s Vi Anderson took first place in the 130 lb. weight class, Isabella Current took second in the 115 lb. weight class, Clara Iverson took third at 105 lbs., and Maryann Rice took sixth at 170 lbs. The Sisseton Redmen Boys Wrestlers traveled to Madison to compete in the Madison Invite on Dec. 20.

Sisseton’s Kayden Tchida and Holden Hawkins both won their weight class, Tchida at 113 lbs. and Hawkins at 165 lbs. Alex Metz took second at 106 lbs, Evan Folk took third at 132 lbs., Gavin Fryer took fourth at 120 lbs., Rory Current took fourth at 157 lbs., and Malachi Anderson took sixth at 175 lbs. The Sisseton Redmen Gym-nastics Team took second place at the Milbank Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 20, scoring 131.5 points. The Deuel Cardinals took first place scoring 136.55; the Britton-Hecla Braves took third with 129.7, the Milbank Bulldogs fourth with 127.75; and the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles fifth with 125.2.
