Autumn Colors on Display Fall colors may indeed be coming to an end, and many leaves have fallen over the past week, but the colors of autumn were on full display around the Sisseton area in the preceding weeks, and not only at Sica Hollow! The first week of October saw the colors peak for the season, resulting in beautiful landscape both in the country, such as when traveling west of town past the Nicollet Tower, and in town, such as when driving past the colorful tree pictured above, located at the corner of 6th Avenue East and Maple Street in Sisseton. This picture was taken on Oct. 4.

Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate’s Tribal Opioid Response Project (TOR) is promoting the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, which is taking place Sat urday, Oct. 29. Christian Women to meet Oct. 19

Sisseton Area Christian Women’s Club will meet at Assembly of God Family Life Center, West Highway 10, Sisseton, on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 9:30 a.m. Coffee and a snack will be provided. There s a small cost.

Bank donation program benefits local non-profit

Sisseton Youth Baseball Association recently received a donation of $200 thanks to Dennis Jensen, an employee of Dacotah Bank/Dacotah Insurance. As part of the company’s ‘Give Where We Live’ program, each employee may direct $200 per year to a deserving non-profit organization or local cause.

WANTED: Peter Stewart

Peter Stewart pled guilty in Roberts County court to the crimes of: Keeping a place for use or sale of Controlled Substances, which is a felony, and Unauthorized Ingestion of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), which is also a felony.

Peter Stewart was instructed by the court to turn himself in to the Roberts County Sheriff on Sept. 9, 2022, and failed to do so.

State A Golf Qualifiers

Local art collective to produce pop-up gallery

Anyone involved in the art community in Roberts County has likely met Markus Tracy. If they haven’t, they should. He’s back in town, working on multiple projects to enhance the community through art. One is a new artists collective called “The New Old,” and a pop-up art show scheduled for Oct 14-15.
