Sisseton Food Pantry Open June 19

The Sisseton Ministerial Food Pantry will be open from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on the following dates:

• Thursday, June 19, hosted by Christian Outreach Center.

The Food Pantry is located in Sisseton on the corner of First Avenue West and Maple Street, west of Baus Oil.

Nurse Honor Guard Meeting on June 18

There will be a Nurse Honor Guard Membership Meeting at Cahill Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, June 18, at 6:30 p.m.

Volunteers are needed in our area. Please join in an informational meeting to discuss Nurse Honor Guard, including volunteering, uniforms and the Nightingale Tribute.

This meeting will be hosted by Jessi Moen, RN and Laura Frankenhoff, RN, and is open to all active and retired nurses.

Sisseton Area Women’s Connection meeting June 18

Sisseton Area Women’s Connection will be meeting on Wednesday, June 18, at the Assembly of God Family Life Center, West Highway 10, Sisseton, at 9:30 a.m. Coffee and snack will be provided. There is a small cost. Contact Reva Cordie for a reservation at 605-237-0497. Reservations are desired, but walk-ins are welcome. Come and bring a friend. It’s open to all women and a great opportunity to have fellowship with others in our surrounding community.

Josiah Strand’s wish has been granted through Make-A-Wish partner, Glacial Lakes Harley Davidson of Watertown

Eighteen year old Josiah Strand of Sisseton will see his dream come true as Make-A-Wish of South Dakota and Montana has partnered with Glacial Lakes Harley Davidson of Watertown and other community organizations to send him to attend the Delphi University in Georgia later this summer. Josiah’s wish was to go to Delphi University and attend RoHun class.

Travis Sitter donated a motorcycle to help make this wish possible.

Golfers compete in Region 1A and two qualify for State

The Sisseton Redmen Girls Golf Team competed in the Region 1A Golf Meet in Volga on Thursday, May 22.

Sisseton had two golfers qualify for the State A Tournament at Regions. Kenzley Heath took fourth place shooting at 85, and Elliot Hortness took ninth place shooting a 93. Mahree Geyer fell just short of qualifying, shooting a 125 and coming in 24th.

The State Golf Meet will be held June 2-3 in Madison.

Community Vacation Bible School in Sisseton June 2-5

Community Vacation Bible School, “True North – Trusting Jesus in a Wild World,” is being held in Sisseton at the Family Life Assembly of God Church Monday - Thursday, June 2-5, for children ages four through sixth grade. Each day’s fun is from 6:00-8:30 p.m.
