Names released in June 14 Roberts County Fatal Crash

One person died last Wednesday evening, June 14, in a two-vehicle crash southeast of New Effington, SD.

Preliminary crash informa- tion indicates that a Harley Davidson golf cart was driving westbound near mile marker 233 on SD Highway 127. A 2010 Ford F150 pickup was driving eastbound near mile marker 233 on SD Highway 127. The golf cart crossed the center line and collided with the F150 pickup.

Luciel Kohl of Canton, SD, the 19-year-old driver of the golf cart, died at the scene of the crash. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

Locals driving by the Nicollet Tower on Highway 10 west of Sisseton will notice something different -- art work displayed on the tower itself rather than inside the Interpretive Center. Erin Genia’s artwork Wičaȟnpi adorns the tower and is clearly visible to travelers passing by.

Sisseton Youth Baseball Association to dedicate fields

The Sisseton Youth Baseball Association will be holding a night of baseball and dedicating the new fields and facilities at the local baseball complex on Friday, June 2, beginning at 5:00 p.m. The Association will also be unveiling the donor board that lists all the people and groups that have made donations to make the facility possible.

Name released in Roberts County fatal crash

A Sisseton man has been identified as the person who died Sunday evening, May 14, in a one-vehicle crash north of Sisseton.

Preliminary crash information indicates that a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling south on SD Highway 127 near mile marker 215 when the vehicle attempted to pass another vehicle. The driver of the Tahoe lost control of the vehicle, entered the west ditch, hit a field approach, went air-borne and rolled.

Antwan Other Medicine, the 25-year-old male driver, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
