Veblen man gets suspended prison term, 60 days in jail in rape case

A Veblen man who admitted to a count of rape received a 25-year suspended prison term.

Delano L. Dumarce, 45, pled guilty in December to rape involving a victim who was younger than 13 at the time. According to court documents, Dumarce was originally charged in Day County with three counts of rape, two from 2009 and one from 2010. Court documents indicate the victim reported the incidents in 2020 when she was 17. In that report, she detailed multiple incidents of inappropriate contact.
