Hillestad honored with STEM Teaching Award

The South Dakota Science Teaching Association is proud to recognize Amanda Hillestad as the 2025 Outstanding Elementary Science Teacher for the state of South Dakota.

Hillestad is a science educator at Westside Elementary School in Sisseton, SD, where she teaches students in K-4 STEAM. Amanda will be presented her award and a $1,000 prize from award sponsor, the Center for the Advancement of Math and Science Education (CAMSE) at Black Hills State University during the annual SD STEM Ed Conference in Huron.
