Fire at the Landfill

The second fire in less than three weeks was started by a lithium battery that was crushed by the packer at the Roberts County Landfill. Landfill personnel would like to remind the public to dispose of lithium batteries properly through recycling rather than disposing of them in the garbage, as they can start a fire if crushed. Batteries may be dropped off at Auto Value or NAPA in Sisseton. ~ Courier Photo
