Sisseton gymnasts take fifth at Regional Meet in Madison

The Sisseton Redmen Gymnastics team took fifth place at the Region 1A Meet held in Madison on Thursday, Feb. 6. Deuel won the meet with 142.875 points, followed by Madison (134.500), Estelline/ Hendricks (133.125), Milbank (129.475), and Sisseton with 115.225 to round out the top five. The Sisseton Redmen Wrestling Team placed four wrestlers in the top four in the Parker Invite on Saturday, Feb. 1. Isiah Grimm took second at 132 lbs, Carter Metz took second at 152 lbs., and Matthew Moen took second at 170 lbs. Ethan Skarnagel took fourth place at 285 lbs. Sisseton wrestlers take fifth at NEC tournament

The Sisseton Redmen Wrestling Team took fifth place at the NEC Wrestling Tourney held in Britton on Thursday, Jan. 30.

Sisseton placed six wrestlers in the top four, with Carter Metz taking first place in the 152 lb. weight class. Isiah Grimm took second at 132 lbs., and Anthony Benda took second at 145 lbs. Matthew Moen and Devon Appel took third place at 170 lbs. and 220 lbs., respectively, and Josh Long placed fourth at 126 lbs.

Sisseton places five wrestlers at Kingsbury County Invitational in Arlington

The Sisseton Redmen Wrestling Team traveled to Arlington for the Kingsbury County Invite on Saturday, Jan. 25, and placed five wrestlers in the top four.

Isiah Grimm took second at 132 lbs, Anthony Benda took second at 145, and Carter Metz took second at 152. Placing fourth were Jayden Fryer at 138 and Matthew Moen at 170.

Sisseton gymnasts compete in Watertown Invite

The Sisseton Redmen Gymnastics Team took eleventh place at the Watertown Invite on Saturday, Jan. 25.

Watertown won the meet, and Myah Morris of Watertown was the all-around champion.

The Sisseton Redmen Girls Basketball Team fell to 7-4 with their loss to the Redfield Pheasants 39-48 in a Northeast Conference game held at Redfield. Redfield moved to 7-4.

Ayianna Chanku hit 14 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals to lead the Redmen. Lexus RedThunder added 9 points, 9 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 blocks.

Tiospa Zina Wambdi down Sisseton Redmen

The Tiospa Zina Wambdi downed the Sisseton Redmen 65-48 in a Northeast Conference match-up held at the Tiospa Zina Gym on Tuesday, Jan. 28.

Tiospa Zina took a 12-7 lead after the first quarter, and still led 26-23 at halftime. By the end of the third quarter, the lead was cut to 44-43, but Tiospa Zina out-scored Sisseton 21 to 5 in the fourth quarter to secure the 65-48 victory.
