Sisseton Boys fall to Britton/Hecla in double overtime
The Sisseton Redmen Boys Basketball Team fell to the Britton/Hecla Braves in double overtime 58-65 on Tuesday, Jan. 30, in Britton.
Sisseton fell behind 12-14 at the end of the first quarter. Britton increased the lead to 25-21 at half-time. Sisseton tied the game up at 33-33 at the end of the third quarter. Britton/Hecla had a 5 point lead with 6.8 seconds left in the fourth quarter when Nate Tchida hit a 3 pointer. Carter Stickland stole the in bound pass and passed the ball to Hayden Hellwig, who made the lay-up to tie the game up at 49-49. Both Sisseton and Britton/Hecla scored 6 points in the first overtime to keep the scored tied at 55-55 and send the game into a second overtime. Britton/Hecla held Sisseton to 3 points in the second overtime and scored 10 to claim the victory 65-58.
