George selected as 2026 SHS Alumnus of the Year

2026 Sisseton High School Alumnus of the Year Philip George of Sisseton was named the 2026 Sisseton High School Alumnus of the Year during the program at the Annual SHS Alumni Reunion Banquet on Saturday, July 11, 2026. George was in the class of 1964. Philip George, SHS Class of 1965 was named Alumnus of the Year Saturday night, July 11, 2026 at the Sisseton High School Alumni Banquet.

Philip’s niece, Sarah (George) Bierman, shared the following remarks in presenting the award:

“Philip George was born on November 11, 1945 to Lloyd and Luella George. He grew up on Hills Ranch south of Sisseton. It was there he developed a strong work ethic that would stay with him throughout his life. He worked side by side with his father and brothers. Caring for livestock, milking cows, and putting up hay in the summers were some of his chores. Phil enjoyed working cattle with the horses and taking friends and family riding on the ranch.
