SHS girls golfers compete at Region 1A meet

The Sisseton Girls Golf team competed at the Region 1A meet in Sisseton on Monday, May 13, and qualified two individuals for the state meet to be held May 20-21 in Milbank.
Milbank’s Megan Schliesman was the individual medalist with a 97, while Madison claimed top team honors. Team scores were as follows: Madison 407, Milbank 417, Aberdeen Roncalli 476, Groton 479, Dell Rapids 483, Sioux Valley 487, Sisseton 490, and Redfield-Doland 499.
Brea Dziuk led the way for the Redmen with 110 (56 and 54), followed by Laci LaFromboise with 120 (65 and 55), Rachael German with 123 (53 and 70), Jacinda Carlson with 137 (68 and 69), and Savannah McDaniel (71 and 66).
State Qualifiers for the Redmen were senior Brea Dziuk and eighth grader Laci LaFromboise. Senior Rachael German just missed qualifying for state by two strokes.
Sisseton’s Girls Golf team is coached by Head Coach Jim Pearson and Assistant Coach Bill Dziuk.

Redmen compete at Region IA Track Meet

Sisseton competed at the Region IA Track and Field Meet on Thursday, May 16, in Britton.
Sisseton came away with two first place finishes. The Boys 4x800 Meter Relay team (Korbyn Bertsch, Jordan Cornelius, Jalin Cordell and Darin Peterson) had a time of 8:42.1 to win that event, and the Boys 1600 Spring Medley team (Trevor Archer, Brayden Tasa, Jordan Cornelius and Darin Peterson) took 3:52.1 to claim top honors. Sisseton Redmen play host for NEC Track and Field Meet

The Sisseton hosted the NEC meet on Saturday, May 11 at the SHS Athletic Complex.
Aberdeen Roncalli claimed top honors as a team in both the boys and girls divisions. For the girls, the Roncalli team scored 157, followed by Clark-Willow Lake, 114; Redfield-Doland, 111; Webster Area, 74; Britton-Hecla, 74; Milbank, 65; Deuel, 50; Groton Area, 48; and Sisseton, 41. On the boys side, Roncalli scored 197, followed by Britton-Hecla, 108; Redfield-Doland, 105; Sisseton, 75; Milbank, 61; Groton Area, 51; Clark-Willow Lake, 49; Webster Area, 46; and Deuel, 34.
