Sisseton falls to No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian
The No. 8 seeded Sisseton Redmen Volleyball team fell to the top seeded Sioux Falls Christian in the opening round of the State A Tournament in the Watertown Arena on Thursday, Nov. 20, 25-13, 25-14 and 25-15.
The Redmen girls appeared to have tournament jitters, never looking comfortable in the match. Emily Weatherstone had 7 kills and 1 block to lead the Redmen. Kendra Pikarski had 6 kills and Amanda Reinart 5 kills. Cami Goodhart had 16 assists and 9 digs, while MaKenzy Frederick had 8 digs.
Shelby Zomermaand had 20 kills, 3 aces and 3 blocks to pace Sioux Falls Christian. Amy Hurley had 30 assists and and 8 digs. Kourtney Pollema had 22 digs, and Kelsey Pollema had 15 digs. Kensi Brands had 2 serving aces, 6 kills and 3 digs.

Redmen attempt comeback, fall short
The Sisseton Redmen lost the first two sets to Redfield/Doland 19-25 and 14-25 but rallied back to win the third set 25-22 before falling in the fourth set 20-25 in the State A tournament in Watertown on Friday, Nov. 21.
Emily Weatherstone and Amanda Reinart each had 13 kills to lead the Redmen, and Reinart added 5 digs. Brianna Medenwald added 7 kills, and Cami Goodhart chipped in with 39 assists and 13 digs. MaKenzy Frederick added 10 digs, while Shayli Toelle and Laci LaFromboise had 6 digs each.
Jamie Tebben had 22 kills, 13 digs and 3 serving aces to pace the way for the Pheasants. Marlee Mack added 12 kills, and Sarah Rozell chipped in with 10 kills and 8 digs. Allison Tschetter had 38 assists and 16 digs. Joslyn Heer had 10 assists and 15 digs.

Sisseton places 7th at State Volleyball
The Sisseton Redmen volleyball team beat the Pine Ridge Thorpes 25-21, 25-15, 22-25 and 25-23 to bring home 7th place in the State “A” Volleyball Tournament played at the Watertown Civic Arena on Saturday, Nov. 22.
The Redmen got off to a slow start in the first set, but managed to pull out the victory at the end.
Sisseton took charge in the second set and powered past the Thorpes to cruise to victory.
In the third set Sisseton rallied late in the match, but could not pull off the victory.
In the fourth set Sisseton jumped out to a lead and held on to bring home 7th place.
Emily Weatherstone had 13 kills, five digs, one block and two aces to pace the Redmen. Brianna Medenwald had 12 kills and two blocks. Amanda Reinart had 11 kills and two digs. Cami Goodhart had 41 assists and 18 digs. MaKenzy Fredrick also had 18 digs. Shayli Toelle chipped in with 12 digs and one ace.
Brittany Backward had 15 kills, nine digs and one ace for the Thorpes. Cortez Standing Bear had 12 kills, 13 digs and one ace. Shaylene Richard had 33 assists and nine digs. Tashiana Hernandez had 17 digs and four aces.
