Redmen fall to Roncalli Cavaliers

The Sisseton Redmen football team played host to fourth ranked 11B Aberdeen Roncalli in a Northeast Conference game on Friday, Oct. 3 with Roncalli winning 52-6.
The Redmen kept the game close in the first quarter on a Dustin Moshier 81-yard touchdown run with the point after no good to cut the Roncalli lead to 7-6.
Roncalli proved to be too much for the Redmen. Roncalli’s Colton Cox scored four touchdowns with runs of 1 yard, 1 yard, 3 yards and 5 yards. Braden Sommers caught a 49 yard touchdown pass from Zach Lundquist. Alec Sommer scored on a 5 yard run. Bailey Hauge scampered in on a 14-yard touchdown run.
Ethan Kranhold topped the Redmen defense forcing and recovering two fumbles. John Meland had a dozen tackles.
Matt Schlosser led the way for the Roncalli defense with six sacks.
The Redmen will play the Tiospa Zina Wambdi on Friday, Oct. 10 for Tiospa Zina’s homecoming game.
